PARTY! Baby Blanket

After struggling with a pattern I got on-line and ripping apart the blanket several times because the edges would not come out straight, I created my own pattern.

Yarn: I Love This Yarn

Menthe, Orchid, Pink & Soft Blue

Oh, The Places You’ll Go Baby Blanket

The original colors used for this pattern were inspired

by a Dr. Seuss  classic. I used colors

that I had left over from a previous blanket.

Menthe, Orchid, Pink & Soft Blue

Two Color Easy Afghan

The very first time I tried this pattern, I used a very thick yarn which resulted in a small rug instead of a blanket. So I would recommend this pattern highly if you are interested in making a rug. It is easy and the perfect stitch for a rug. The blanket pictured above is the result of using a medium weight (4 ply).

Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver

Colors: Turqua & Spring Green

Crochet pattern at:

http://www.favecrafts.com/Crochet-Baby-Blankets/Two-Color-Easy-Afghan-Crochet-Pattern

The edging is simple.

Start with a single crochet, skip 1 space, chain 3, single crochet, skip 1 space, chain 3, until all sides of blanket are complete. I used 3 single crochets

in each corner.

Summer Mist Throw

This is a good pattern to use for leftover yarns.

In the top blanket, I combined six colors and mixed them up according to how much yarn I had of each color.

It worked!

Yarn: I Love This Yarn

Colors: Buttercup, Light Peach,

Menthe, Orchid, Pink & Soft Blue

In the second blanket, I used scraps of yarn in twelve different colors intermixing both brights and pastels.

All scraps were “I Love This Yarn” from Hobby Lobby.

Classic Coverlet

This crochet pattern looks complicated,

but it is very easy and quick.

Top blanket: I used a bulky (5) yarn so the blanket is heavy and warm.

Yarn: Patons Beehive Baby Chunky

Color: Pink Marble & White

Bottom blanket: I used a light (3) acrylic yarn so the blanket is lightweight and soft.

Yarn: Bernat Baby Sport

Color: Lilac Marl

Diamond Blanket for Baby

This pattern is worked from corner to corner creating a skewed diamond shape perfect for swaddling!

Instead of using four colors as the pattern suggests,

I chose this soft, colorful variegated yarn.

Yarn: Bernat Giggles

Color: Cheer Up

Crochet pattern at:

http://www.redheart.com/free-patterns/diamond-blanket-baby

Rainbow Blanket

The ‘bumpy’ texture works up into a

warm, heavy weight, keeping baby nice and toasty!

I could not resist the color “Minty”, so I paired it up with two additional colors to create a vibrant and

bright color scheme. Perfect for a baby boy!
